The Last Resort is a beautiful 3 Bedroom 3 Bathroom single story bronze cabin on the Merced River that sleeps up to 10 guests. Located on the South fork of the Merced River surrounded by large Oak and Pine trees, watch the creatures of the forest as you enjoy the views and sounds of the river. The fully equipped kitchen sports a dishwasher, island, large pantry, bar area that seats four, a large dining table with 8 chairs, and a game table for four. The living room has a new Queen leather sofa sleeper, a flat-screen TV, WiFi, and a rock fireplace. Firewood is provided by the homeowner during the cooler month. The spacious family room features a pool table, many board games, and a card table. Each bedroom has new luxury beds The Master suite has two queen beds a TV, a rock fireplace, a private bathroom with two sinks with a side entrance to the deck. The second bedroom has a full-size bed and a private bathroom. The third bedroom has a full-size bed plus a bunk bed with a bathroom across the hall. This cabin is pet-friendly!

About the Area
Nestled just 4 miles inside the southern entrance of Yosemite National Park is the charming and historic town of Wawona. Located at the base of Chilnualna Falls (the second-highest vertical drop waterfall in Yosemite), and home to the principal trailheads into the southern Yosemite wilderness, Wawona is also the closest town to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias.
Wawona has the feel of a small town but is bustling with activity! Over 160 residents, including Yosemite Park employees, live in Wawona and can be seen gathering at the town's community center, playing a pickup game of basketball at the elementary school, jogging on one of the many picturesque trails, or simply walking their dogs and baby strollers through the winding residential streets. The historic Wawona Swinging Bridge boasts the best natural water slide in the Park! Wawona was known to the local Native American Miwok in their language as Pallachun (a good place to stay). Galen Clark, who helped gain preservation legislation for Mariposa Grove and what later became part of Yosemite National Park, occupied the Wawona area in 1855 and established a tourist rest and modest ranch which he later sold and made into a hotel and resort property (the Wawona Hotel). The Wawona post office was established in 1878 and was originally called Clark's Station.
